Synthesis of Mitomycins


Mitomycin C 1 i s one o f the most useful antitumor antibiotics which exhibits activity against several solid tumors and is tised
clinically over a wide As part of our research in this area, we have found a new class of mitomycin family, i.e.,
mitomycin G 2, H 3, and K 4 from the fermentation broth of mitomycins. These novel mitomycins have exo-methylene double bond at the 9th and 10th positions. The f i r s t report4 describing the derivation of mitomycin G 2 from mitomycin B 5 via mitomycin H 3 left insufficiency concerning the yield for the practical usage. We herein repcrl; tiie improved synthesis o f mitomycin G 2 from mitomycin B 5.

The birth of total synthesis occurred in the nineteenth century. The first conscious total synthesis of a natural product  was that of urea (Figure 1) in 1828 by Wöhler. The synthesis of acetic acid from elemental carbon by Kolbe in 1845 is the second major achievement in  the history of total synthesis. Sintesis Urea dan Bahan Alam Terahalogenasi

Sintesis  Urea Dalam suatu siintesis urea, seperti yang telah dilakukan oleh Wohler yang disebut juga dengan Sintesis Wöhler  adalah perubahan anonium sianatmenjadi urea [1].  Reaksi kimia ini ditemukan oleh Friedrich Wöhler pada tahun 1828. Penemuan ini dianggap sebagai titik awal dimulainya kimia organik modern. Sintesis ini penting karena untuk pertama kalinya komponen organik dapat dihasilkan dari reaktan anorganik. Penemuan ini bertentangan dengan teori vitalisme yang meyakini bahwa materi organik mengandung kekuatan khusus atau  kekuatan vital . Urea ditemukan pada tahun 1799 dan sebelumnya hanya bisa didapat dari sumber biologis seperti urin.
